  VPN Required for Off-Campus Access

UChicago's Academic Information System (AIS) is behind the University's firewall and requires the University's VPN when accessed off campus.

Please follow these steps to connect to AIS via VPN when off campus:

  1. Download and install the Cisco AnyConnect Client VPN if you do not already have it.
  2. Log in to Cisco AnyConnect using your University CNetId.
  3. Once connected, you will be able to access AIS as you would on campus.

There is no change to accessing AIS while using the University’s network on campus.

If you experience any difficulties with the VPN or have questions about this change, please contact IT Services at 773.702.5800 for assistance.

Note: If you experience any issues that prevent you from logging in to my.UChicago, please review the AIS Troubleshooting guide.

If you believe you should have access but are unable to log in, please send an email to registrar@uchicago.edu.

Update Bookmarked Links

If you have a link bookmarked for my.UChicago/AIS, please remove your current bookmark and set up a new one in its place by first navigating to my.uchicago.edu. Saved bookmarks can create access issues. It is recommended that you clear your cache (for all time, not just the past hour) prior to bookmarking the new link.

Logging in through public class search page

If you are navigating to the public class search page and then attempting to login from that page, you will not have full access to information in the portal. The public class search associates a “guest token” to your log-in credentials which will limit your access. You will need to log-in through my.uchicago.edu and click on the Class Search link from within the portal.
